Calvary Compass – March 11, 2025 - Calvary United Church, www.calvaryuc.ca
Dear Friends of Calvary,
Maybe Wiarton Willy was correct in saying that there was only 6 more weeks of winter. The sun is shining and it is definitely warmer outside. March Break is upon us and the sap is flowing to make maple syrup. Hopefully everyone will be able to get outside and enjoy this weather however long it last before Old Man Winter delivers his last bit of winter.
Hopefully you will be able to go to at least a few Lenten Wednesday night worship services at the various Old South churches. The list is included later in this Compass. Also copies of Rev. Kerry's Lenten calendar of daily spiritual practices are located at the back of the sanctuary to be considered during the Lenten season.
Worship Services are all live-streamed:
March 16 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbTuFxm-xIU
NOTE: The same links will work to view the recorded service, in case you are unable to watch the live-stream.
Recorded service for March 9 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4wwujCjpOo

By making a tribute donation online or by phone you’ll celebrate their devotion and service in a meaningful and lasting way, and their name will be featured in the June historic keepsake centennial edition. This is a beautiful opportunity to pay tribute to those whose lives and service have profoundly shaped your faith community and the broader story of the church. Psalm 27: 7, 13, 14, from the New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition
Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
be gracious to me and answer me!
I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!
Prayer for the Week:
God of forgiveness and peace,
fill us with your love even though
we do not deserve it.
When we fall into temptation and are covered
with guilt and anxiety, wash us clean and
lift us to a new life again. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Prayer focus for this week: For the leaders of our country and provinces. May they do what is right for the country and for the world.
