Dear Friends of Calvary,
This Wednesday's Lenten Worship Service is at 7 pm is at Riverside United Church (695 Riverside Drive). The hosts are White Oaks and Riverside United Churches. So far, each of Lenten services have been a little different and enlightening.
Today, Tuesday, March 25th, is the last day that you can submit articles, photos, poems, letters to the editor and announcements to Kim Knowles for the Spring Catalyst.
It is time to re-evaluate the Calvary Compass and how often we should send it out. Some people are only glancing at it, others are reading the whole Compass weekly and others are not even reading parts of it. Kim and Mary would like to know if you still want it distributed weekly or maybe only twice a month or once a month. Please send your opinions to Mary Kannakko at mkannakko@rogers.com or Kim Knowles at calvaryuc@execulink.com We are looking for feedback from everyone.
For those who were not present at last Sunday's worship service or did not watch the live-stream, Denise Jung and her husband Peter are the proud parents of a beautiful little girl named Isla Hye-in (pronounced Heh-in) Stroobosscher who was born March 20 at 12:28 pm, weighing 6 lbs 15 oz.

BAPTISM AND BECOMING A MEMBER
Considering baptism or becoming a member of Calvary United Church? Everyone is welcome at Calvary!
The sacrament of Baptism and welcoming new members (including those transferring from another church) will take place during worship on Sunday, May 11 (Mother's Day) at 11 am.
Please notify Rev. Kerry by Easter Sunday, April 20th if you are interested and he will let you know what is involved in becoming a member or being baptized.
SPRING GARDEN CLEANUP
The Calvary Green Committee will be holding a cleanup of our gardens on Saturday, May 10th. Further details will be coming closer to the date.
2025 Lenten Project
The Ontario School Nutrition Program supports children facing food insecurity so that no child in London goes to school hungry. Your donations will help make this a reality. Donation envelopes are located in the church sanctuary. Please make cheques payable to the VON with Ontario School Nutrition Program in the memo line. Thank you for your support.
Please submit your donation by Sunday, April 20th. VON will issue tax receipts for donations of $10 or more at the year’s end.
Financial Support for Pursuing Post-Secondary School Education
Application Deadline April 30, 2025
The Board of Trustees administers two programs designed to provide financial assistance to eligible applicants pursuing post-secondary school education at a Canadian university or college. The application deadline for the school year starting this coming September is April 30.
Full details and application forms for the Scholarship Program and the Bursary Program are on the church’s website (https://www.calvaryuc.ca/bursary-program).
YOUTH ACTIVITIES
1. Sunday, April 6th from 5-7 at Welsey-Knox United Church. Learn to lead the city toward environmental responsibility with Ward 11 Councillor Skylar Franke! Pizza and drinks provided. Call Cindy at 519-281-8153
2. There is a Youth Sleepover being planned for May 9th at Richards Memorial United Church. A poster will come out closer to the date
