The sacrament of Baptism and welcoming new members (including those transferring from another church) will take place during worship on Sunday, May 11 (Mother's Day) at 11 am.
Please notify Rev. Kerry by Easter Sunday, April 20th if you are interested and he will let you know what is involved in becoming a member or being baptized.
UNDIE SUNDAY
Don't get your knickers in a knot!
Our Undie Sunday drive has begun. It will close on Sunday, May 18th. Mission Services of London stated their current needs as Men's Medium boxers, Women's Medium briefs, travel size toiletries and Men's shoes sizes 10 -12. Feel free to make your own purchases, but as in the past, I have greater buying power with bulk purchases. Donations can be e-transferred to me: krisgoodman@live.ca, placed in the offering plate, noting Undie Sunday on your envelope if cash or cheque or Giant Tiger gift cards. (Make cheques out to Kris Goodman with Undie Sunday in the memo line.) Mission Services appreciate any of our gifts that we bring and thank us for our ongoing support. This is a very real way that we can support those less fortunate than ourselves.
2025 Lenten Project
The Ontario School Nutrition Program supports children facing food insecurity so that no child in London goes to school hungry. Your donations will help make this a reality. Donation envelopes are located in the church sanctuary. Please make cheques payable to the VON with Ontario School Nutrition Program in the memo line. Thank you for your support.
Please submit your donation by Sunday, April 20th. VON will issue tax receipts for donations of $10 or more at the year’s end.

Rev. Kerry has two tickets to give away to a concert:
"In Paradisum" a concert of two of the best loved Requiem’s ever composed, by Duruflé and Fauré.
Presented by London’s ProMusica choir, 7:30pm at St. James Westminster Anglican Church, 115 Askin Street (we are there Friday morning for the Good Friday service).
Contact Rev. Kerry at the church: 519-434-5526 or email him at kerry.stover@calvaryunitedchurch.on.ca if you would like the tickets.
The concert features:
Fauré’s Requiem - the French composer Gabriel Fauré wrote some of the most beautiful melodies he ever composed. The Requiem owes its roots to Christian faith and is a prayerful lament for the dead. In Faure’s requiem the Pie Jesu, Agnus Dei and In Paradisum emerge as the most glorious, filled with rich, soulful melodies.
Duruflé’s Requiem - One of the twentieth century’s best-loved choral works, Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem—arouses the senses: its essence is mystical. Duruflé captures and creates a mysterious aura, befitting the mystery of death.

Psalm for the Week:
Psalm 36: 5 - 9 from the New International Version Translation
Your love, Lord. reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains.
your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.
Prayer for the Week:
O God,
your son chose the path that led to pain before joy
and to the cross before glory.
Plant his cross in our hearts, so that in its power
and love we may come at least to joy and glory.
We ask this through and with Jesus Christ, our Saviour,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
now and forever. Amen.
Prayer focus for the week: Those that are in hospital or at home and recovering from surgery.
