Psalm for the Week

Psalm 149: 1 - 5 ( New International Version )

            Praise the Lord.

            Sing to the Lord a new song,

                his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.

            Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;

                let the people of Zion be glad in their King.

            Let them praise his name with dancing

                and make music to him with timbrel and harp.

            For the Lord takes delight in his people;

                he crowns the humble with victory.

            Let the faithful people rejoice in this honour

                and sing for joy on their beds.

 Prayer for the Week

            Gracious and loving God,

            You have named us beloved.

            When we fear the future, remind us that

            Your love is our beginning and our ending.

            In times of trial, hold us fast, hear our cries,

            and deliver us from evil. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
