LONDON COMMUNITY CHAPLAINCY  (Southdale location)

We will be collecting non-perishables for LCC from May 23rd to June 25th. Breakfast items, school snacks (nut free) eg. granola bars, applesauce, puddings, etc. and pasta sauce are currently needed. Thanks for your ongoing support!

PRAYER REQUESTS

We encourage you to submit prayer requests for family, friends and neighbours that you are concerned about! Prayer requests are sent to the members of our prayer circle on a regular basis. On  Sundays, prayer requests can be submitted through the prayer request box that is on the credenza in the west end of the sanctuary. Prayer request cards are located next to the wooden box. You are welcome to write down the name or names of those in need of prayer and put the card in the box or on the offering plate on Sunday morning. We guarantee your privacy. You can also email Rev. Kerry at kerry.stover@calvaryunitedchurch.on.ca with prayer requests.

CANADIAN FOODGRAINS AND THE CARADOC GROWING PROJECT

The Blessing of the Fields and the Annual Meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 7:30 pm.  Instead of going to the fields, you will be getting a tour of Crooked Creek Acres elevator close to Strathroy. "This is where they process grain for human consumption, a specialty process. This year's experience will hopefully enlighten people to the process that allows the crops to feed people and animals, and in the case of the Caradoc Growing Project and Canadian Foodgrains Bank, to feed hungry people around the world."

The Calvary Catalyst has gone to press and will be available soon for distribution. Those without email accounts will receive their copy in the mail, and everyone else will get their copies as an email attachment. Thank you to Bruce Jones for his hard work preparing the Catalyst for us!

Psalm for the Week:

Psalm 116: 1 2; 18 - 19 from New Revised Standard Version Translation

I love the Lord, because he has heard

                my voice and my supplications.

Because he inclined his ear to me,

therefore I will call him as long as I live.

I will pay my vows to the Lord

in the presence of all of his people,

in the courts of the house of the Lord,

                in your midst, O Jerusalem.

            Praise the Lord!

Prayer for the Week:

O God,

amid the distractions of our times,

give us undivided hearts and attentive minds.

Enable us to discern your wisdom for our lives,

so that we may follow Christ, your living Word. Amen
