Calvary Compass – June 4th, 2023 - Calvary United Church, www.calvaryuc.ca

Dear Friends of Calvary,

The weather has cooled and now we just need some rain for our gardens and lawns.

This Sunday, we will have the Covenant Players perform a few biblical skits for us during the worship service. The group have been to Calvary before and are stationed out of the USA.. They tour both the United States and Canada. Kristen Goodman and Kyle Goettl's older brother, his wife and daughter are part of the group that come to Calvary. In order to cover the group's costs, we ask for a freewill offering.

Today is the last day to send your submissions to Bruce Jones (scouterbruce@rogers.com) for the next edition of the Catalyst.

Worship Services are all live-streamed:

SUNDAY, JUNE 18TH, BAPTISM AND RECEPTION OF NEW MEMBERS!

If you or someone you know would like to become a member of Calvary, please contact Rev. Kerry at kerry.stover@calvaryunitedchurch.on.ca It will be a joyous day of celebrating with the sacrament of baptism and welcoming new members. Adherents can also decide to become members at this time if they wish. Rev. Kerry will need to know of your interest in baptism or becoming a new member right away so that he knows how many people will be at the June 7th gathering of prospective members. At this information gathering, Rev. Kerry will share information about the United Church of Canada and what it means to be  member of Calvary's dynamic congregation. We will be having a Coffee Hour afterwards.

CANADIAN FOODGRAINS AND THE CARADOC GROWING PROJECT

The Blessing of the Fields and the Annual Meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 7:30 pm.  Instead of going to the fields, you will be getting a tour of Crooked Creek Acres elevator close to Strathroy. "This is where they process grain for human consumption, a specialty process. This year's experience will hopefully enlighten people to the process that allows the crops to feed people and animals, and in the case of the Caradoc Growing Project and Canadian Foodgrains Bank, to feed hungry people around the world."

For more information and directions, contact the office.

God merely spoke, and the heavens were formed and all galaxies of stars.
