Dear Friends of Calvary,
This coming Sunday will be our Affirming Celebration Worship Service with the presentation of our certificate from Affirm United/S'affirmer Ensemble. Jane Walker from Wesley-Knox United Church will be here to present it. After the service, a coffee hour with cake, coffee, tea and juice will be held in the lower hall. Please plan to come and help us celebrate. We will be using some of Ruthanne's liturgy and Rev. Kerry will be preaching. On this special occasion, there may be extra guests at the service both in person and viewing on the live-stream.

CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF DEEP, BOLD, DARING DISCIPLESHIP
Join the United Church of Canada members and adherents from across the country for a worship service to kick-off the year long celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the United Church of Canada. The 100th Anniversary kick-off service will be held at Metropolitan United Church in downtown Toronto on June 9th at 4 pm.
No need to worry about traveling to downtown Toronto as the worship service will be live-streamed on https://youtube.com/@unitedchurchcda
Let us join together from coast to coast as we begin the celebrations to commemorate the milestone anniversary of our denomination.
BAPTISM OR JOINING THE CHURCH
Thinking about being baptized or has someone in your family has asked you about baptism? Perhaps you have been thinking about becoming a member of Calvary or transferring your United Church membership to Calvary from another congregation.
Rev. Kerry will be glad to talk to you about either those topics. He has scheduled June 16th (Father's Day) for baptism(s) and welcoming new members to Calvary.
BLESSINGS OF THE FIELDS
On Wednesday June 19th, 2024 at 7:00 pm, there will be a Blessing of the Fields. Both fields of wheat will be ready to be harvested in July and the crops will be delivered to the local grain elevators. Proceeds from the sale of wheat will be forwarded to Canadian Foodgrains Bank. The funds are matched by the Canadian government to feed hungry people around the world and to teach subsistence farmers how to farm using healthy sustainable practices.
The event will take place at the farm of Rick and Betty McCracken - 7215 Parkhouse Drive, Melbourne N0L 1T0
GATHERING ON THE GREEN
Thank you to our many volunteers who assisted at our booth for the Gathering on the Green on Saturday. We got to speak with many people, answer questions and share information about Calvary! Our volunteers were:

LONDON COMMUNITY CHAPLAINCY
The Outreach Committee will collect non-perishables for the London Community Chaplaincy through the entire year. with the exception of July and August. These items are shared between both locations - Southdale and Limberlost, but are dropped off at the Southdale location periodically as they have a larger storage area. Occasionally we will provide updates/suggestions regarding items currently needed. Breakfast items, such as boxed cereals, oatmeal, peanut butter, juice boxes and nut-free school snacks (eg. granola bars and fruit cups) are some of the highest needed items. They are also asking for sunscreen lotion and bug spray for the youth for camp during the summer. As always, thanks for your continued support and generosity.
