CHAMPION
This Wednesday, October 12th, we have a speaker coming for the first part of CHAMPION!! Her name is Dr. Alida Van Dijik PhD, former chaplain at Parkwood Hospital and since 2019, the Executive Director at Community Counselling Centre of London. Alida's topic will be :
“Personal Losses" and she will speak along with a PowerPoint presentation for roughly 45 minutes starting at 1:00 pm. ALL are welcome to come to hear her speak even if you do not belong to CHAMPION. It is open to everyone!!!
What is meant by Personal Losses? This could be losses we're experiencing in the way we do things, losses due to changes in relationships, financial changes, changes in our lives as a result of Covid, etc.
For the second part of the gathering, we'll enjoy our usual card and game playing, knitting or crocheting, making bedrolls or just drinking tea & coffee, eating cookies and of course our favourite - chatting. Please join us.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday afternoon.

Scripture Readings – Psalm 119: 97-104, Luke 18: 1-8
Psalm for the Week:
Psalm 61: 1-2
Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.
From the end of the earth I call to you,
when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
that is higher than I;
for you are my refuge,
a strong tower against my enemy.
Prayer for the Week:
Loving and caring God, you give refuge from every trouble.
When we are threatened, we often times turn doubt
that you are there for us.
Hear our cries for reassurance and help, so that we may
be witnesses always of your goodness that takes place in our lives. Amen.
