Calvary Compass – November 5, 2024 - Calvary United Church, www.calvaryuc.ca
Dear Friends of Calvary,
Thank you to all who helped set up, work and take down at the Fall Bazaar. Also thank you to all who shopped at the bazaar. According to Nancy Hind's latest figures, we made $5,327.10. However, she indicated that there are additional monies to add to this total that have not come in yet. I also know that there are items left over which will be going to Live Spin from the Gently Used section.
There will be no edition of the Compass next week. The next edition of the Compass will be Tuesday November 19th. Kim is taking some time off next week and will be back in the office on Thursday. While she is off, Nancy Hind will check for messages and mail.

Calvary Yard Cleanup
Thanks to those who worked away in the drizzling rain yesterday morning to deal with the fallen leaves and overgrown plants.
Thanks to Terry Stafford for clearing leaves from Calvary’s Garfield lawn prior to the bazaar and to those who did yard work despite the poor weather on Monday morning. The Monday crew were: John Dickie, Marg LaRocque, Bob and Kathie Leigh, Tim Lindsay, Liz Macdonald, Bonnie McNichol and Pat Brophy.
LONDON COMMUNITY CHAPLAINCY
We are continuing to collect non-perishable food for the London Community Chaplaincy. Their greatest needs are breakfast items such as cereal, peanut butter, jams, peanut free granola bars, juice boxes, etc. They are stored at Southdale Chaplaincy since they have a bigger storage area, however all items are shared with the folks at both Southdale and Limberlost Chaplaincies. There are collection containers in both the hallway and at the back of the sanctuary.
Thank you for your support.

Psalm for the Week:
Psalm 51: 10 -12 from the New revised Standard Version Updated Edition
Create in me a clean heart, O God
and put a new and right spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from your presence,
and do not take your holy spirit from me.
Restore me to the joy of your salvation
and sustain in me a willing spirit.
Prayer for the Week:
Holy and loving God,
You created night and day and ordered the seasons with the cosmos.
Create in us hearts attuned to you. Help us as we turn to you, striving
to repent of our failings, restoring our relationships, and rejoicing in
your love. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Prayer focus for the week: For peaceful election results in the USA.
