Dear Friends of Calvary,

After the beautiful warm, but windy day on Sunday, we are getting back to snow and wintery weather. It will be interesting to see if March goes out like a lion or out like a lamb. Please consider coming out on Wednesday afternoons and check out the CHAMPION programme and coming to in-person Worship Services. Everyone is still social distancing and wearing their masks.

Starting this Sunday for Worship Services, the Ridout street doors will be unlocked for you to enter through. The parking lot door will also be open for everyone.

Today, March 8th, we recognize International Women’s Day.  Purple is the colour chosen for this day and it represents solidarity and recognizing the contributions of women in our community and around the globe.  The world wide theme is to have us imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.

Psalm 27 selected verses, from the New Revised Standard Version

The Lord is my light and my salvation;

whom shall I fear?

I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord

      in the land of the living.

Wait for the Lord;

      be strong, and let your heart take courage;

      wait for the Lord!

Prayer for the week (from Bread for the Day)

Comforting God,

you are beside us and around us no matter what the day may bring.

When troubles surround us during the day and keep us awake at night,

bring peace that only Your presence provides.  Amen

Spring Cleaning?

Plans are already underway for our Fall Bazaar, Saturday, November 5, all being well. It will include Gently Used items, books, puzzles and plants. So if you have some suitable items we hope you can hold on to them until we can collect at the church.  We have an immediate need for 3 inch and 5 inch plastic garden pots to start some new plants. These can be dropped off at the church starting immediately. Thanks.

Please stay safe and healthy! Masks are still a good idea for protection when you go out.
