November 23, 2021: Calvary now collecting batteries for recycling.

ANNOUNCEMENT - Calvary is resuming the collection of used batteries-all types and sizes including rechargeable, alkaline/single use batteries, some cell phone and watch batteries, etc. Several boxes will be located around our Church building.

                    Why COLLECT?     They are RECYCLABLE!

Batteries contain dangerous chemicals necessary to function but not safe for our landfill or the environment. NEVER put them into the garbage.

There are 50 locations around London with collection boxes - Staples, Goodwill, Tuckey's Home  Hardware. Hanford Tire, Copps Buildall, to name a few.

The filled containers are then shipped to a business in Hamilton or Toronto called "Call2 Recycle" (Canada's largest recycling program). There, they are discharged and their material sorted. Most types can be recycled such  as lead and automobile batteries. Nearly 90% are recycled as well as button cells (watches).

Drop off used batteries at any of these locations when shopping or simply bring to the Church and let us dispose of them for you.

For more information/location drop offs, "Call2Recycle". They have a good web page or call 1-877-723-1297.
